Accreditation and Recognition

The IACBE accredits business programs that lead to degrees at the associate bachelor, master and doctoral levels in institutions of higher education worldwide.

Recognizing the IACBE is the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The job of the CHEA is to scrutinize and affirm the courses of career-based educational institutions.

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is United States organization of degree-granting colleges and universities. Recognition by CHEA affirms that the standards and processes of the accrediting organization are consistent with the academic quality, improvement and accountability expectations that CHEA has established.

The AUS' IACBE accreditation has gained CHEA recognition in January 2011.

The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland is a recognized university by the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. US veterans can apply to study at AUS and obtain a GI Bill.

The GI Bill ® is an education benefit earned by members of Active Duty, Selected Reserve and National Guard Armed Forces and their families. Eligibility for veteran and dependent education benefits is determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). GI Bill® benefits can cover a percentage of tuition and mandatory fees based on the length of active duty service as determined by the VA.

The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland (AUS) is a full member of the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE).
EURASHE is a Brussels-based organization, founded in Patras (Greece) in 1990 as an international association promoting and emphasizing professional higher education (PHE). EURASHE has more than 50 members all around Europe, through which it represents more than 500 universities of applied sciences, university colleges, and other institutions of PHE in Europe.

The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland (AUS) is included in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database (WHED). The database provides authoritative information on higher education systems and credentials, as well as the recognized higher education institutions that meet WHED criteria.
This WHED gained additional momentum at the UNESCO Global Convention on the recognition of higher education qualifications, which aimed to increase the transparency of the higher education landscape at the global level and to enhance orientation through the ever-expanding field of higher education, by providing a standard for the listings of higher education institutions. According to UNESCO, the WHED also serves several major goals, including fostering transparency of higher education on a global scale, facilitating communication within the global higher education community, as well as increasing access, speed, and reliability of information.

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in their classrooms through Seven Principles focused on serving society and safeguarding our planet. PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals, while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact. Driven by its mission to transform management education, PRME equips today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow. As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organized relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.

National Recognition

The Association Vaudoise des Ecoles Privees is an associative network of boarding schools with international vocation and renown, established in the same Canton as AUS's campus, Vaud, offering a framework for higher education performances, conditions and certification.
The goal of the Swiss Federation of Private Schools is to manifest and ensure the significant value of Swiss educational establishments all over the world. FSEP consistently lobbies for improvement in the political, economic and legal framework requirement of private schools in Switzerland.
The Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce plays a vital and active role in assisting Swiss companies in the United States, and U.S. companies in Switzerland, for the expansion of business and knowledge transfer.
