This year, AUS has fully prepared to welcome its students and faculty on campus, offering a modern, safe, and secure learning environment. Despite the complex environment of the COVID-19 pandemic in which we have begun our academic year, we recognize that these are exciting times in the world of business with many opportunities for our global students to grow as professionals and individuals. We continue to rely on Swiss for guidance on Covid-19 measures and strive to keep our campus and community safe at all times.

What is new this year?

1) Upscale, modern campus

With our campus located in the heart of the Swiss Riviera surrounded by major multinational companies such as Nestlé, Phillip Morris, and Tetrapac, we believe that studying at AUS is an important phase of new explorations and experiences for our students. Over the Summer, our staff worked diligently to modernize and re-organize each classroom on campus to allow for the best in-person experience. Besides enjoying the famous Metropolis cafeteria featuring Starbucks coffee and fresh, gourmet food, students can join sports teams and use a dedicated coach for fitness classes two times a week.

2) Nurturing community and high-value professional network

For the past month, our university administration leaders welcomed each student and provided personalized information and guidance. At the same time, our returning students engaged with the new students to help them learn and adapt to living in a new country like Switzerland. With students from over 20 countries joining our community this year, opportunities are created to form life-long friendships from different countries around the world. This year we are committed to providing our students with valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders via regular interactive speaking and career coaching engagements on topics voted by our students.

3) New academic experiences

The American Institute in Switzerland is uniquely positioned to offer its students access to knowledgeable American professors, curricula, internships, and certifications unparalleled by any other institute of Higher Learning. For the past months, we reviewed and updated our curriculum to provide unique opportunities for our undergraduate and graduate students to leverage the educational strength and benefits of both the United States and Switzerland. This Fall term, we started enrolling our first AUS students into the BSBA dual degree program with the Tiffin University (TU) in Ohio, United States. Students will take both AUS and TU courses across over six specializations to complete their required coursework. The courses will be taught on campus and remotely, with the possibility of student exchanges to either university. See https://aus.swiss/programs

AUS is proud to be recognized as an official IATA Authorized Training Center. The degree specializing in Aviation Management allows students to take IATA-certified training courses, gain expert industry knowledge from a global organization in air transport. Courses available to students will complement the AUS curriculum and give real-industry insight to support academic knowledge.

4) Emphasis on Sports

Student life is all about bringing students together.
This Academic year, AUS has started to give even more emphasis on collegiate team sports. Guided by a professional Sports coach throughout the term, students have been building basketball, Football, and volleyball teams.
