Scholarship Policy
Merit-based
Need-based
Merit and need-based support of up to 30%.
AUS scholarships reward strong academic performance and support students whose socioeconomic circumstances may limit access to higher education. Awards are available to prospective and enrolled students, subject to available funds and continued eligibility.
Academic achievement
Prospective and continuing bachelor students need a minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0. Prospective and continuing master students need a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0, based on the most recent completed level or previous academic year.
Demonstrated financial need
Support may be considered for significant financial need, siblings studying at AUS, disability, a disabled parent, social assistance, orphan status, refugee or displaced status, or children of war veterans. Need-based awards are not conditioned on academic achievement.
Conditions and work-study
A scholarship may continue for the full program while eligibility and selection criteria are maintained. Recipients complete agreed work-study duties without disrupting their academic timetable.
- 10% tuition reduction: at least 1 hour per week
- 30% tuition reduction: at least 2 hours per week
- AUS may revoke an award if its conditions are not met

Prospective students can raise their eligibility during the admissions interview. Enrolled students can apply at any time through Student Affairs.

Monitoring
Merit recipients are reviewed every term. Bachelor students must maintain a 3.2 GPA and master students a 3.5 GPA. The scholarship is revoked from the point academic progress falls below the relevant threshold.
Awards are limited by the funds available. Approved applicants are notified of the award amount in writing.
