One application.

AUS reviews applications throughout the year. Select a stage to see what happens and what you need to prepare.
Stage 01
Choose your program and submit
Complete the AUS application form and provide the records that show your academic background, goals, and readiness for your chosen program.

02 Entry Requirements
Start from the route
that fits you.
Admission considers individual merit and context while applying the minimum academic and English requirements consistently.
Bachelor admission
You need a Swiss Maturity Certificate, an eligible Swiss Professional or Specialized Maturity with the required Passerelle, or a foreign upper secondary school-leaving certificate considered equivalent.
- Evidence of sufficient English proficiency
- Foreign certificates are assessed against Swiss admission standards
- IB Diploma, Diploma Courses, and Career-related Programme applications are considered case by case
Master admission
You need a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or higher education institution, or an equivalent foreign qualification recognized or accredited in its country of origin.

Swiss Federal Diploma admission
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold an eligible upper-secondary qualification.
- International High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate, A-Levels, or an equivalent qualification
- Official English translations of all transcripts
- IELTS score from 5.5 to 6.0, with no component below 4.5
- A 400–500 word motivation letter explaining why you want to study this specific program in Switzerland
- Minimum age: 18 years
Doctor of Business Administration admission
The DBA is intended for experienced professionals ready to undertake advanced applied research.
- A relevant Master's degree
- Extensive work experience, preferably in executive, leadership, or senior management roles
- Minimum age: 25 years
- Minimum IELTS score: 6.5

This schedule rolls forward automatically when an application deadline passes. Program availability and the confirmed start date are stated in your Offer Letter.
10 calendar days
After a positive decision, return the signed offer letter, signed student agreement, and proof of the admission fee payment.
Maximum one year
You may request a deferral for up to one year. After that, the offer becomes invalid and a new application is required.
Rolling admissions
Apply as soon as your documents are ready. Visa timelines remain the applicant's responsibility.
05 International Students
Your education is read
in its full context.
AUS assesses foreign qualifications against recognized Swiss and international frameworks, with attention to the subjects, study hours, and length of schooling.
International background is part of the assessment, never a barrier to a fair review.
Certificates should correspond substantially to the Swiss Maturity Certificate. AUS follows recognized comparability guidance.
DP, Diploma Programme Courses, and CP applications are assessed case by case by the Admissions Committee.
Submit notarized English translations of all relevant records before the application is reviewed as complete.
Successful international applicants receive an Acceptance Letter and support from Student Recruitment for applicable visa and immigration arrangements.
06 English Requirements
Ready to study
and collaborate in English.
Applicants whose native language and previous language of instruction were not English must provide evidence of proficiency. Results must be no more than two years old.
Other admission evidence
The policy also lists SAT 1000 for BSBA applicants graduating from an American high school, ECPE Pass, MELBA 80%, and McGraw-Hill Education English Certificate at CEFR B2. Other assessments and the Admissions Interview may be considered case by case.
TOEFL for visa language evidence
For the Swiss student visa, the policy lists TOEFL internet-based and Home Edition scores of 72 to 94, with minimum scores of Reading 18, Listening 17, Speaking 20, and Writing 17.
English-medium education
Students whose primary language of instruction in secondary education was English may satisfy the applicable language evidence requirement, subject to review.
07 Visa & Immigration
Plan the move
with the right route.
Requirements depend on nationality. AUS provides institutional documents and guidance after admission, while the applicant remains responsible for the embassy or consulate process.
No entry visa is required
EU and EFTA residents do not need a visa to enter Switzerland for study. Registration and residence requirements still apply after arrival.

- Use your Acceptance Letter for applicable residence formalities
Apply through the Swiss representation
Apply for a student visa at the Swiss embassy or consulate in your country of residence. An official submission can begin after admission and receipt of the AUS Acceptance Letter.
- Provide your CV and accepted proof of English proficiency
- Show proof of at least CHF 25'000 in available funds
- AUS supplies the Acceptance Letter, Study Plan, written undertaking, and supporting application documents
- Confirm the full procedure and local requirements with the relevant embassy or consulate
08 Transfer Students
Bring forward
what you have earned.
Previous higher education is reviewed for recognition, level, relevance, and alignment with the learning outcomes of your AUS program.
Credit transfer
Recognized prior study
Transfer applicants have completed at least one full semester at a recognized institution. Eligible institutions include those listed by DEQAR, regionally accredited US institutions, and institutions recognized by the appropriate national quality authority.
Assessment basis
Records determine the route
Secondary records normally determine undergraduate eligibility. When more than 60 ECTS are transferred, the admission decision is based on higher education records. Study from an institution outside the recognized categories may still support undergraduate admission without transferable credit.
US military learning
Joint Services Transcript
AUS may evaluate Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard JST records using ACE credit recommendations. Air Force and Space Force applicants should provide a Community College of the Air Force transcript.
Final evaluation
Program alignment matters
Accepted credit is applied to the relevant degree when prior learning matches course content and outcomes. The maximum transfer depends on the program and the AUS credit transfer policy.
